Shadow of Star

Today, one of the more popular ways to enjoy leisure time is to be entertained, to sit back and enjoy a display of the talents of others. That is not entirely new either because the Bible shows that for millenniums people have found pleasure in watching others dance, sing, play musical instruments like guitar with guitar pick, or compete in sports. Reading can also be a kind of recreation, although people enjoy the entertainments mentioned above. I am sure that all of us agree that it is delightful to watch the feats of a skilled athlete, the moves of a ballerina, the good plot of a movie, or the relaxing melody from instruments. However, we need to have a balanced outlook about these forms of entertainment to know its danger and benefits. We have known so many things about the influence of entertainment, but to sum it all up, the dangers can be separated into two different categories; quantity and quality, the amount of entertainment accessible and their contents.   Technology may be able to bring us the miracle of instant entertainment; imagine how stunned Mozart would be to hear one of his symphonies over a portable stereo. However, technology cannot create the time it takes to indulge all such pleasures and in fact, in some countries where technology is highly developed, there has been a trend toward less leisure time available, rather than more. So we should not allow entertainment to use up all our leisure time and we should always remember that entertainment is only one way of recreation, and usually the most passive kind. So rather than simply sitting and waiting to be entertained, most of us need to be more active outside and participate in physical activities.
