We heard the news of what happened to our high school principal from way back. They said that he could not ask for help from his neighbors when he had a heart attack early in the morning and it could have been avoided if he had some sort of communicator or alert system by his side during emergencies. Now I am starting to be anxious about my own parents and their well- being since my siblings also live far from them though it is a good thing their next door neighbors are our close family friends and relatives, they would never bother them unless there is an emergency. We searched online for an emergency communicator or an alert system that can do just that and we found freedom alert. It is a two way communicator system with a base station plugged to the phone and a small speakerphone that can be comfortably worn as a wristband, a belt clip, or most commonly a pendant. I ordered one for my dad and placed it to his wrist and my mom the necklace type, it work so simple my parents do not do anything much but press the blue button. I programmed the system in such a way the speakerphone will dial any of the numbers I saved including of course the 911 number if in case none of the other numbers will take the call. My sister who was living a little over an hour away come every month to change the batteries and testing their range which about five hundred feet from the base station which is quite far enough. The base is so cool it has its own back up battery in case of a power failure, this way we would never worry about their health and well- being anymore, and in turn they can check on us anytime, too.
